Columbia River Gorge
Year Round

The Columbia River Gorge offers everything - some of the highest waterfalls in the country, sweeping mountain views,  volcanoes,  lush forests, wildflowers in the spring, and towering cliffs.

This 3 day workshop prioritizes waterfalls on both sides of the Columbia River, or wildflowers in the spring. The workshop is perfect for those wanting to capture amazing waterfalls without long, strenuous hikes. However, if you are up for a 1-2 mile hike, it opens up even more amazing opportunities.

Over the course of the workshop we'll shoot sunset and sunrise and travel from the small town of Corbett, OR all the way to Hood River, OR, depending on the time of year and weather.

  • Winter (December- February): Offers the opportunity for snow and if it gets cold enough, lots of ice around the falls. Count on rain, if it's not snow.

  • Spring (March-May): Massive waterflow in the falls with wildflowers in the eastern gorge in mid to late April.

  • Summer (June-August): Less water, but still great flow in most of the falls. Way more crowded and parking can become an issue. A lot of blue sky days with less chance for those dramatic sunrises and sunsets.

  • Fall (September-November): Less crowded and great waterflow in all the falls as we get later in the season. Fall color usually doesn't reach peak until the end of October or first of November. Count on some rain as well. â€‹
